Read Amichai this week and as interesting as it was to reflect on his life, I didn't feel like I couldn't really understand his poems. They were well written though and I felt his life story was more interesting to talk about. His life story had a lot to do with Judaism. He modernized Hebrew and really took part in helping it advance. He was nominated mulitple times for the Nobel Prize and although he didn't win any, when he died in 2000 he donated all his findings etc. to Yale. I love learning to information about history, even though it's always a really long story. But as Martin Luther King Jr. once said, "We are not makers of history. We are made by history."
